The Northerns EIS Sheffield.

Emily competed in this competition over this weekend 14/15 January. Emily has competed here for 5-6 years now and it’s a place we love to go.

Anyway , on Saturday Emily started with the 60m and her time was just outside of her PB with a time of 9.29s. Almost straight away Emily headed to the other end of the track to compete in the long jump. Emil hadn’t done a long jump competition in the previous 11 months . Previously she had become slightly frustrated with being behind the board rather than even half way on it so we decided to take a break from long jump for a while. That was in February 2016. Since the beginning of 2016 Emily had also decided to stop her swimming career and decided to do strength and conditioning training one a week with Lee Clay from Puregym in Gateshead.

The results as they say are there to see. Her long jump run up is now extended by almost 3 metres now. Training for long jump started again in November with the idea to do the last 2 competitions of indoor season in Sheffield and the Gateshead 2 day meeting in February.

Emily did the long jump with a massive PB of 3.71m. On Sunday Emily competed in the shot put with a big indoor PB of 7.09m.  The weekend was a tremendous boost for Emily . She had a great time.
