Just back from NECCA Indoor Track and Field Championships at Gateshead. Fantastic weekend for Emily.
Saturday Emily competed in the shot put and after another great and consistent set of throws her best was 7.72m. Emily finished 4th overall.
Then over to the long jump. Again a great series of jumps equalling her PB of 3.71m then on her final jump smashing her PB with a jump of 3.84m and claiming a silver medal in the process. A great day.
Sunday is Emily’s 18th birthday and Emily had a 60m to run then she can start and celebrate her birthday in style. She ran it in style in 9.28s a seasons best. Really pleased with Emily’s weekend and all this absolutely loaded with cold.
We would like to thank the many people who have wished Emily a happy birthday today , even the race announcer before the 60m race over the PA which had Emily slightly embarrassed haha.
We are off to Primavera along Low Fell for a birthday meal with family in a couple of hours.
3 1/2 weeks until Emily’s last indoor competition of the season so it’s down to hard training in an attempt to gain more pbs . Cheers again.
