Northern Championships 10/11June

Just back from Sports City where Emily has been competing this weekend. Travelled down early Saturday morning in torrential rain which never stopped. Amazingly it did at around 1030 just before Emily’s long jump competition. Emily had 6 jumps with the best being 3.40m. A reasonable set of jumps considering the damp and windy conditions.

On to Saturday afternoon Emily had her 100m. Competing against two other disabled athletes , Emily produced her seasons best performance  and won the race in a time of 15.03s again in windy but by now dry conditions.

On to Sunday. After a long wait to complete Emily started off with her 200m against four other disabled athletes to again produce another seasons best of 30.99s in a great race.

on to her final event the shot put. A good solid set of throws resulting in a best throw of 8.23m in extremely windy and difficult conditions for all the athletes competing. Emily finished 3rd overall.

A very pleasing weekends athletics from Emily as she is now getting into her stride and looking very strong.

Onwards next Saturday to Doncaster at the CP Grand Prix.
